Dear Friend,
For four years I wrote about having a dad with Lewy Body Dementia. This past March I stopped writing about it because my dad, Wayne Ellis Batavia z”l, died.
And now, as Father’s Day approaches (but right before we enter Shavuot) I want to share these reflections with you. I share so that some of you might find comfort and connection as you navigate your own grief.
This is the first time that I am sharing writing on this platform that isn’t entirely explicitly Jewish. However, as you will quickly realize from reading, there is no way to separate the Jewish from myself and family. Is this too, Torah?
Thanks for witnessing.
Love,
Meg
